As a bench jeweler by trade, Oscar Droste began Droste’s Jewelry Shoppes in 1967 as a jewelry trade shop, repairing and manufacturing jewelry for over 56 jewelry stores in southern Indiana, Illinois and northwestern Kentucky. Since that time, Droste’s Jewelry Shoppes has grown to become two free standing retail jewelry stores offering quality jewelry and master jewelry craftsmanship to Tri-state residents.

It is said: “Necessity is the Mother of invention.” Over the years, as a master jewelry craftsman, Oscar Droste spent thousands of hours retipping worn prongs on customer’s rings. In time he realized there had to be a better way to retip prongs. That is when Oscar went to work in making the world’s first Redi-Prongs, a premade die-struck prong with a thin layer of pre-applied solder on the bottom of each prong. After hundreds of the world’s first Redi-Prongs were tried and tested, Oscar realized Redi-Prongs worked better than any other method that currently existed for retipping prongs. Shortly thereafter, Oscar engineered the world’s first automated Redi-Prongs production facility. Today Redi-Prongs, Inc. manufactures and distributes a complete line of Redi-Prong products throughout the U.S. and Canada, as well as other countries throughout the world. Redi-Prongs, Inc. Is managed by Oscar and his two sons, Greg and Tim.

The Redi-Prongs production facility is located at 4511 First Avenue in Evansville, Indiana. The complete line of Redi-Prongs products are manufactured in Evansville, Indiana and this facility has the capacity to produce large volumes of Redi-Prongs to meet the world’s demand for prong repair.
